This Slide Show was the subject of a Video Step by step tutorial that was made for Digital Photo Magazine in 2003. The subject was making a slide show with PicturesToExe and it appeared on the magazine cover disk along with this slide show that was the subject of the tutorial. I have adjusted the format of it a little for PC and Mac, but the slide show remains as was made in 2003. The slide show helped (a little) to raise awareness of PTE in the UK For those who like a little nostalgia

    Rose of Paradise

    Version 1.0.0

    214 downloads

Hi, As every year, during the Advent's time, the members of the French forum Diapositif.net put each day an AV as an Advent Calendar gift. Here is my own contribution. Unfortunately, the story is in French. Thank you to excuse me. Here is the summary : During all the Middle Ages, the archbishopric of Sens (60 km from my home) was very powerful : it contained 7 bishoprics, of which Paris. This certainly explains why the Sens Cathedral was so innovative, and is now regarded as the first Gothic Cathedral (XII century) with the St-Denis Abbey. A transept was added in the end of the XV century. At the south entry (for the bishops) is a big rose window, with Last Judgement details. At the north entry (for the chapter) is a (smaller) big rose window, named The Rose of Paradise. I tried to describe this magnificent rose in a tale way : One day, the designer of the rose, still without ideas (as me !!), falls asleep and dreams arriving in the Paradise. There, he sees 33... ? (well, you'll see !) And with the aid of St Cecilia, St Veronica St Étienne St Peter, and a magical mirror (the reflections become real !) he is now able to draw and paint the screen of the rose. And later, in the middle of a Christmas night... But please, see by yourself ! Merry Christmas to you all, and my best wishes for 2016

  31. Thank you very much, Lin, for your so kind presentation of Jean-Pierre and his big contribution to enhance PTE. His imagination was very important - limitless - and his ability as well. His death was and still is a great loss for us all. What would he have dreamed and done with the new versions ?

Quite an interesting landscape. Seeing the kids in school uniforms and the man walking about with a cellphone seems incongruous with the look of the place. But then I am judging it by western "standards" Nicely produced presentation Cor!

Thanks Jim for the response. Yes it did take some months to put the AV together. The specialist miniature builder spent 72 hours building and ageing the unique space ships for me. I photographed incense stick smoke trails at the beginning and used Photoshop to build up the nebula and star fields from my sky/cloud collection together with a program that allowed me to build and modify my own planets. I spent a lot of time extracting the spaceships to save as png files. It also took me some time researching and mixing the soundtrack from various sources.

    SPRING

Hello Maureen, For some inexplicable reason I had trouble downloading this AV. Came back after lunch and bingo! Certainly worth it too. On a very cold miserable wet day to suddenly be taken to the beautiful pastoral scenes of your AV has brought the sun out here if only for a moment or two. Lovely images and fades filling my screen. Just a wonderful package to view. Hence a well deserved 5 stars Thank you.

A cacophony of pandemonium; sights, sounds and smells, people and pollution, resulting in a sensory overload. The poverty and rubbish are in sharp contrast to the armed guards at gated hotels, where there is not a single leaf out of place. On the streets; the children, who seem to have nothing, are happy and clean. It's confusing, sometimes most disturbing, but a wonderful place to visit and (for me) a once in a lifetime experience. Following Barry's advice, I re-visited this show that was V1 in 2015. For some reason, it just didn't work for me. But it now does in V2.

Evolutionary time is almost impossible to imagine The original of this sequence used 3 full screen video clips, but unless it was viewed on a powerful desktop, the video was not smooth enough for my liking. When shown on a moderate Laptop, the video full screen does not work so good. Hence the reduction of the video to insets rather than full screen. In my view the video is a vital part of the whole thing with the music

  46. Stunning photography which displays very well as a photo album and would be difficult to do as an A/V because of the large variations in aspect ratio. However, one of the things in looking at a regular photo album is that you can turn the pages at own own speed dwelling on the photos of particular quality or interest. Lack of keyboard control prevented this with your album. An option for a mouse click to advance the page would have been very nice.

    Rocky Mountain Kids

Hi Jeff, Thanks! I just checked the EXIF and it says July of 2005 for the goats and kids and the marmot was on the same day. The Pika was the following week from about 13,000 feet on the same mountainI was using a Sigma SD15 with a Sigma 80-400 OS lens which with the 1.7x crop puts it at an effective 680 mm. Isn't that the way it goes - you get a once in a lifetime opportunity and no camera!! There doesn't seem to be too many people posting right now - but it usually happens in groups for whatever reason. Probably when the first beta of 8.5 is released - most likely then end of October, we will see new shows posted. Best regards, Lin
